"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes."
Often when looking at an image our eyes are affixed to the iconic buildings and structures which we are most accustomed to seeing. Through the use of repetition, I ask the viewer to examine the geometric and organic shapes and patterns of colors that have been formed as a result of each of the individual details inherent in the image. In paying attention to these items, never forget to appreciate the way they compliment one another to formulate a larger picture. The title of this project stems not only the images themselves, but their correlation to the city which they were all captured, Grand Rapids.
